Instructor Spotlight: Meet Nicole Danese

Meet this month’s spotlight instructor and #megababe, Nicole! Originally from Honduras, she has been here in Houston since 2001 and teaching at HIP Fitness for 3 years. When she’s not leading class, you can find her spending time with her with her kiddos – 2 girls (2 and 4 years old) and son (6 years old). For fun Nicole loves getting active – traveling, water skiing, snow skiing, as well as all types and levels of exercise! Nicole knows it’s all about balance and enjoys unwinding with a glass of wine and listening to Latin music.

We caught up with Nicole to hear how she started with her love for Lagree, health and teaching at HIP. Here’s a peek into our convo:

Where and how did you first begin practicing the Lagree method?

I used to train with a trainer, doing strictly weightlifting. After my last pregnancy my cousin convinced me to try a class at HIP Fitness… I thought it would be easy and a typical “boring” Pilates class. I fell in love with the workout from my first class – it was soooo challenging! I loved the “low impact, high intensity” aspect of the workout and results that I was seeing. Before I knew it I was taking 5-6 classes a week – I couldn’t get enough!

What about the workout got you hooked?

I loved feeling challenged in every single class! I knew I was working my muscles hard and in a safe way.

What is your go-to healthy snack?

Oatmega bars, almonds, almond butter

What is your favorite body part(s) to work on the Megaformer? 

Legs and obliques

Why should everyone try HIP? 

Because it’s a workout that people of all ages and fitness levels can do. There are modifications for beginners and experts in each exercise to ensure you’re getting the most from your workout. The workout is safe, and the results are real – it works!

Advice for a first timer?

Don’t get discouraged if you feel lost or that the exercises are too difficult. You will build the strength and knowledge to get through the 45-minute workout. And although it will not get less challenging, you will feel more comfortable!
