THE MEGAFORMER

The Megaformer—you love to hate it, but always come back for more! With its resistance springs, and carriage, the Megaformer is similar to Joseph’s Pilates’, reformer. However, it delivers so much more intensity. Slower is better. Exercises are performed slowly, transitions are quick, and your muscles are guaranteed to shake. HIP Fitness was the first studio to bring the Megaformer to the Houston-area. If you’ve never encountered the Megaformer before, don’t worry—you’re in good hands!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HIP Fitness?2022-11-20T09:30:47+00:00
HIP Fitness is a high-intensity, low-impact method that always offers a full body workout. The Megaformer combines the elements of classical Pilates, cardio and weight training. You will strengthen, tighten, tone, and lengthen your muscles through several slow exercises focusing on slow twitch muscles. The Versaclimber uses the climbing method to engage your upper and lower body. The exercises work all major muscle groups simultaneously with each movement. Both workouts are seriously intense to guarantee that you reach your fitness goals.

This is my first time should I do private sessions first?2021-01-13T13:07:01+00:00
The workout is intense, but the routines are kept simple to ensure everyone uses appropriate form. We do offer beginner classes but most of our new students do fine in  our all level  classes.   There are several modifications and classes are small, so let the instructor know if you need help.

How early should I arrive?2022-11-10T18:49:17+00:00
First time clients must come 15 minutes prior to class. Any client who arrives less than 10 minutes prior to class for their first session will not be allowed to join. For your safety there are no exceptions. There will also be no clients allowed to walk in late for a climb class.

Can my package be used at any HIP Studio?2021-01-13T13:07:37+00:00
Yes! Any package purchased, can be used at both studios. Just make sure you reserve online at the correct location to avoid cancellation fees.

What if I can’t come to class and I have already been confirmed? Will I be charged?2022-11-10T18:50:28+00:00
Yes, even if it’s your first time. We have a 10 hour cancellation policy. Unlimited Class Packages will be charged a $15 late cancellation fee to the credit card on file each time you cancel or reschedule a class without giving us the full 10 hours’ notice. ‘No-shows’ will be charged $25.00. Session Series Packages will have a class deducted for late cancellations and ‘no-shows’. Sorry, there are no exceptions.

What if the class is full?2022-11-10T18:51:11+00:00
We offer a wait list for our classes.  Often clients schedule classes and cancel prior to the class.  You may receive a text message through our mindbody site if a space comes available but it is not always reliable.  Double check the online class schedule often, as many people will cancel themselves out, and spots open up. If a spot becomes available, you will be auto-added to the class. You are confirmed!

What if I need to cancel my class?2022-11-20T09:32:41+00:00
No problem! We have a 10 hour cancellation policy. This means you can cancel up to 10 hours prior to the scheduled class, and the class will be credited back to your account for future use.

How old do you have to be to take a class?2021-01-13T13:09:46+00:00
14 years or older. If you’re under 18, we require a signature from a parent or guardian.

Can I workout if I’m Pregnant?2021-01-13T13:10:36+00:00
We are not doctors but have been told that it is not advised to try a new workout while pregnant. If a client was regularly taking HIP before she got pregnant, we suggest asking her doctor before continuing.

How do I create an account?2021-01-13T13:10:58+00:00
HIP uses Mind body for scheduling.  Go to ‘book a class’. It will take you to our Mind body site. In the upper right hand corner click the ‘Sign up!’ button and follow the instructions.

What should I bring to class?2022-11-20T09:33:51+00:00
Socks with tread are required throughout the studio for all Megaformer classes. We sell the grip socks at the studio in case you forget! Sneakers are recommended in the HIP Climb classes. We have towels and a water dispenser, but some clients prefer a water bottle. Jewelry is NOT a good idea. It may catch in the springs or get lost, but it is your choice. No cellphones during classes.
