FAQs

HIP Fitness combines the elements of classical Pilates, cardio and weight training. You will strengthen, tighten, tone, and lengthen your muscles through several slow exercises focusing on slow twitch muscles.  The workout is low impact, but high intensity.  You will start shaking in no time!

The workout is intense, but the routines are kept simple to ensure everyone uses appropriate form. We do offer beginner classes but most of our new students do fine in  our all level  classes.   There are several modifications and classes are small, so let the instructor know if you need help.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your class start time.  If it’s your first time at HIP, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior.

Yes! Any package purchased, can be used at both studios. Just make sure you reserve online at the correct location to avoid cancellation fees.

Yes, even if it’s your first time. We have an 8 hour cancellation policy. Unlimited Class Packages will be charged a $15 late cancellation fee to the credit card on file each time you cancel or reschedule a class without giving us the full 8 hours’ notice. ‘No-shows’ will be charged $25.00. Session Series Packages will have a class deducted for late cancellations and ‘no-shows’. Sorry, there are no exceptions.

We offer a wait list for our classes.  Often clients schedule classes and cancel prior to the class.  You may receive a text message through our mind body site if a space comes available but it is not always reliable.  Double check the online class schedule often, as many people will cancel themselves out, and spots open up. If a spot becomes available, you will be auto-added to the class. You are confirmed!

Socks with tread are required throughout the studio and for all classes. We sell the grip socks at the studio in case you forget!

We have towels and a water dispenser, but some students prefer a water bottle.

Wear loose, comfortable clothes similar to Yoga and Pilates clothing.

Jewelry is NOT a good idea. It may catch in the springs or get lost, but it is your choice.

No cellphones during classes

No problem! We have an 8 hour cancellation policy.  That means you can cancel up to 8 hours before class start time and the class will be credited back to your account for future use.

We know Houston traffic is Crazy!  If you are running late, you have a 5 minute window from the start time of the scheduled class to keep your reserved spot.

If you are over 5-minutes late, your spot may be given to a standby student.

We suggest that all new clients not to jump into a class late as we would like to introduce the machine to avoid any injury.

14 years or older. If you’re under 18, we require a signature from a parent or guardian.

Our All Level Megaformer Classes are made for all fitness level types, however, we do offer beginner Megaformer classes for a slower paced class.  We suggest new clients not to try the MEGA/TRX until they have taken at least one Megaformer Class.

We are not doctors but have been told that it is not advised to try a new workout while pregnant. If a client was regularly taking HIP before she got pregnant, we suggest asking her doctor before continuing.

HIP uses Mind body for scheduling.  Go to ‘book a class’. It will take you to our Mind body site. In the upper right hand corner click the ‘Sign up!’ button and follow the instructions.
