If you’ve worked out at HIP for any amount of time, there’s a good chance you’ve met Ashten! Ashten has been with us for years now after discovering a class at our studio with instructor and friend Randi. Since then, Ashten has been a part of the HIP fam and lead many, many classes at all of our studios. This month, we’re putting the spotlight on Ashten before she makes her big move to Chicago on August 1st. Get to know Ashten and meet her on the Megaformer before her last class on July 28th at the West U studio. 

Where and how did you first begin working out on the Megaformer?

3 years ago at HIP! I took an instructor’s mock class that instructor Randi invited me to. I thought I was in shape, but the workout kicked my butt.

What about the workout got you hooked?  

I really liked that the workout isolated each muscle group to fatigue. 

What’s your favorite Megaformer exercise?

 Scrambled Egg/froggy kick Combination (obliques)

Advice for a first timer?  

It’s challenging but don’t get discouraged. It’s important to stay consistent with the Megaformer, but the work is so worth it.

 

Hobbies?

I’m a musician and songwriter. I also love making art; painting, drawing, photography.

Favorite travel destination?

New Orleans to visit family.

What is your go-to healthy snack?  

Hummus and cucumbers

Favorite music to workout to?

R&B
